Batt O'Connor's 60th Birthday Party

Saturday, April 17, 2010. What a grand day! My husband Dave and I were pleased to be invited to a party for Limerick's celebrated musician, Batt O'Connor, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. He chose the right spot for the festivities, Dolan's pub, where he has spent many fine evenings and sung many songs.

The sun was still shining when the guests began to assemble.

The crowd grew and the merriment increased as well.

Batt took time to greet the guests and to enjoy a story or joke with each one.

Lots of musicians showed up to celebrate.

And--of course--there was a fabulous cake!

Batt sang a song and gave some heartfelt words of appreciation. . .

. . . for his family, his friends, and his hair!

He was honored with a song, composed especially for his birthday.

The evening's music got more and more lively as the hours passed.

Happy 60th Birthday, Batt O'Connor!

  1. Thanks Nan. Bart sent us the link to these photos - we were unable to make it to Limerick that weekend because of the volcano so it was good to see something of the festivities.

Rob and Sue Potter - parents of Andy who is married to Dee, Bart's daughter.
